Biomass Extruder
ALL MACHINERY IS FOR SALE - EXCLUDING THE LAND AND BUILDING
This is the "receiving" portion of our plant. A truck with a walking floor backs into the receiving bay and we can unload 20 tons of shive in about 20 minutes. The cyclone on top of the wet storage (dry flake bin) offers some negative air so that dust is not emerging from anything that is not airtight. The chain drag effectively fills the bin right to the back. There are three separate Allan Bradley micro logic 1400 PLCs at the plant. One system controls the receiving another the drying and the third looks after the production. Receiving Station:
We have shaft monitors on all of the equipment monitored by the PLCs that will initiate an alarm and ultimate shutdown if something stops in the process.
Drying Process:
The drying process involves the shives being metered out of the "wet"
storage bin at a metered amount
by a pair of 12 inch counter rotating augers. These augers are controlled by a variable drive.
The stainless auger moves the shives into the drum
The two million BTU suspension burner is from Energy unlimited and is fuelled by shives.
The drum is a stainless 5 X 24 single pass.
The cyclone is a hi efficiency unit that drops the shives through and airlock into another stainless auger and the drive shives are deposited into our "dry"
storage bin.
Production:
The production portion consists of moving the dried shives out of the "dry"
storage bin and introducing it
in to the individual extruders inside the building.
In the dry bin there is a very large gearbox that drives a drum on which there are two sweeping arms whose job it is to keep the U trough unloading auger on the bottom of the bin full.
The large U trough auger unloads the bin into another stainless auger that moves the shives into our storage tank at the side of the building. There are capacitive level sensors on the distribution tank that automatically start and stop the unloading process to keep the tank supplied with material.
There are individual augers on the bottom of the distribution tank that mover the shives to the individual extruders.
Three vertical mixing augers are also installed in the dry storage bin.
The green fan on the side of the cyclone structure provides combustion air for the burner. The fuel auger for the burner is mounted to the bottom of the distribution tank and meters the shive into the air flow as required.
